TUMBLING CLASSES

Our Tumbling Program at Cook Gymnastics Academy is designed for athletes who want to focus specifically on floor skills and power tumbling. This class helps students develop strength, flexibility, body control, and proper technique needed for tumbling progressions. Athletes will work on skills such as rolls, cartwheels, round-offs, back handsprings, tucks, and other advanced tumbling passes through structured drills, skill stations, and conditioning. Classes are designed to allow each athlete to progress safely at their own pace while building confidence and power. Our tumbling program is great for athletes in gymnastics, cheerleading, dance, or anyone looking to improve their tumbling skills in a positive and encouraging environment. At CGA, we focus on strong fundamentals, safe progressions, and helping every athlete reach their full potential.

Beginner:

Curriculum: Candle Stick, Forward/Backward Roll, Straddle Roll, Bridge Up, Handstand, Cartwheel,  & Back Bend

Skill Requirement: Little to No Experience

Class Focus: Body Positions, Body Awareness, Stretching & Conditioning, Tumbling Basics & Fundamentals

Intermediate 1:

Curriculum: Handstand Forward Roll, Handstand Bridge, Standing/Running Round Off, Backbend Stand Up, Kick Over, & Tik Tock

Skill requirement: (All Skills Listed in Beginner Class)

Class Focus: Introduction to Running Tumbling, Body Control, Spotting Technique, Strength/Flexibility, Intense Technique Training.

Intermediate 2:

Curriculum: Back Extension Roll, Cartwheel/Round Off Variations, Front/Back Walkover, Back Handspring

Skill Requirement: (All Skills Listed in Beginner & Intermediate 1 Classes)

Class Focus: Introduction to Power Tumbling, Round Off Back Handspring, Skill Combination

Advanced:

Curriculum: Back Handspring Series, Cartwheel Back Handspring, Toe Touch Back Handspring, Round Off Back Handspring, Standing/Running Aerial, Front Handspring Step Out, Front Tuck

Skill Requirement: (All Skills Listed in Beginner, Intermediate 1, & Intermediate 2 Classes)

Class Focus: Running/Power Tumbling, Body Control, Spotting Technique, Intense Technique Training, Tuck Setting Drills, & Running Tucks.

Elite:

Curriculum: Standing Back Tuck, Back Handspring Back Tuck, Cartwheel Back Tuck, Round Off Back Tuck, Layout, Full

Skill Requirement: (All Skills Listed in Beginner, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, & Advanced Classes)

Class Focus: Tucks & Layouts, Power Tumbling, Elite Skills, Body Positions
